Music

“Music is a great blessing. It has the power to elevate and liberate us. It sets people free to dream. It can unite us to sing with one voice. Such is the value of music.”

Nelson Rolihlala Mandela

Music

Music is an integral part of the Lilyfontein Spirit. Class music is taught as part of the Life Skills/Creative Arts curriculums from Grade R to Grade 6. During class, learners are exposed to the world of music, sounds, theory and performance and have lots of fun.  We also offer individual tuition in piano, keyboard, recorder, flute, vocals and guitar.

Learners also have the opportunity to gain ensemble experience in recorder groups and marimba bands at various levels. We also enjoy choirs and singing groups throughout all the Phases.

Lessons mainly take place during the school morning, or in the afternoons by arrangement.  Bands/choirs can be during the school morning or co-curricular in the afternoons.

We perform at:

  • The Port Rex Lions Eisteddfod
  • School occasions such as Founders Day, Open Days and Prize Givings
  • School concerts, School productions and Assemblies
  • Weddings, Graduations and other local events, upon request.
