Dear Parents / Guardians,

We trust that you have had a good week please take note of the following:

Parents please be advised that due to the increased security measures, collection and dropping off of learners will take slightly longer than in the past. Thank you for your understanding.

ALL Grade 9 parents and learners are reminded of the Subject Choice Meeting to be held in the School Hall on Tuesday, 11 September 2018 at 18:00. It is very important that you attend this meeting. Learners are to be dressed in their informal uniform.

SUNFLOWER DAY: 21 September
Be the hope and buy your tope for our annual Sunflower Day. We encourage all Lilyfontein families to buy their R30 tope from Pick 'n Pay or the School Shop and wear them to school on the 21 September. R30 is a donation to the fund and learners are encouraged to buy a new one for 2018.

INTERMEDIATE PHASE: Adventure Race Training

All Grade 4-5 and U13 teams entering the Lilyfontein Adventure Race are encouraged to attend Adventure Sport on a Monday and Thursday with their teams to train. Monday is cross-fit and Thursday is cycling.

A big thank you to all our partners and sponsors for this years Adventure Race.  

We will be having our Guitar Tea Concert on Saturday, 15 September 2018 from 10:00 to 12:30 in the School Hall. If you would like tickets, please send the money, name, grade and number of tickets to Lisa van Tonder before Monday, 10 September (tickets are R30 each). Any queries please contact Mrs Wiggill.

The annual Big Green Expo exists to educate the public about the impact our choices have on the environment. They will be showcasing products and services that are kinder to the environment and provide a platform for like minded people to interact. Entrance is FREE! Lilyfontein will be involved in this EXPO please find time to support and visit, let's save our planet.

RESULTS: Debating 
Adon Parker, Daniel du Plessis and Aiden Young (A team) debated against Merrifield A on Wednesday,13 February and won their debate.
Adon Parker was Best Speaker. Sethu Jikwa and Iman Mciteka adjudicated.

Unfortunately, our B team: Yonda Nonyathi, Liyabona Mlungwana and Bonolo Ramela, lost their debate against Clarendon B’s, but they gained from the vigorous debate. WELL DONE!

Congratulations to Teo Bosazza and Ej Mollentze for being selected to go to Cape Town for the National XCO MTBike competition as part of the Eastern Cape MTB team. We wish them all the best of luck. 

Teo Bosazza came first in the provincial MTB XCO this weekend achieving an awesome ride of 15 km in only 55 mins
