Since 2001 Lilyfontein has also made its mark as one of the leading academic High Schools in East London. Each year, we maintain the 100% pass rate set by our 2008 Grade 12’s

Lilyfontein School is one of only 2 schools in the East London District to have achieved a 100% pass rate for this length of time.

AR18 save the date

It's Lilyfontein Adventure Race time again! Service your bike, get those running shoes out and start training. This year's event romises to be a real challenge! Put the date in your diary and join our facebook group to keep up to date with the latest information. Once again the Lilyfontein Adventure Race is the provincial qualifying race for the SA Schools Adventure Racing Championships.

The race includes teams of four in the following categories: Corporate, Corpoprate Duo (2 people), Corporate Crocs, Corporate crocs duo (2 people), Family/fun, U19, U15, U13, Grade 4&5 and Grade 1-3. Each team must include at least one member of the opposite gender. Teams will be running, cyclng and completing various adventure based challenges along the routes.

ENTRIES CLOSE: MIDDAY MONDAY 3 September 2018

DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE: Could include beach, single track, gravel, trail, and bush. Features could include: coastline and immediate interior, ocean views.

RACE DESCRIPTIONS:

  • This is the provincial qualifying race for the SA Schools Adventure Racing Championships. 
  • All teams must consist of 4 members of which at least one member must be of the opposite gender.
  • Corporate Duo and Corporate Crocs Duo consist of 2 team members of any gender.
  • There is a maximum of 40 teams per category. 

PRIZES / PRIZE MONEY: Over R10 000 of prize money to be won.

GOODIE BAGS: First 450 people to enter and pay will receive Goodie Bags

T-SHIRTS: Race shirts will go out to the first 450 entrants.

MEDALS: There will be trophy/medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams in each category.

FOOD / BEVERAGES: Food will be available on Friday evening during briefings/registration and on Saturday until lunch time.

U13, U15 and U19 teams sleeping at the venue must ensure that they bring a healthy, filling breakfast from home.
Friday: 
•    Supper will be served on Friday night from 17:00 – 19:30

  •  Menu : Vetkoek and Mince R30:00

    Please order your food online when you enter the race

    Saturday:

  • Tea / coffee will be available at the start from 04:30 – 09:00

  • A tuck shop food tent will be available from 10:00 – 16:00

ACCOMMODATION:  All school teams (U13, U15 & U19) are required to camp on Friday 7 September – Camping fees are included in entry fees for these categories. A team manager is also required to camp with each team. All other participants and supporters are asked to support the accommodation venues on the Wild Coast Jikeleza Route – see http://www.wildcoastjikeleza.co.za/en/ for details.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 

All participants are to bring an original, signed Lilyfontein Adventure Race Indemnity Form to registration. Download the Indemnity form HERE! 

NO INDEMNITY= NO RACE. All School teams (U13, U15 & U19) are to provide a copy of ID at registration.

REGISTRATION DETAILS:

Registration is open from 14:30 on Friday 7 September and closes 15 minutes before each race briefing. Corporate & Corporate Duo Race Briefing times will be confirmed.

Attendance at the briefing is compulsory. Immediately after the briefing ALL U13, U15 & U19 SCHOOL TEAMS are to remain together.  Except Grade 1-3 and Grade 4-5 they will receive their briefing on Saturday.

No parents will be allowed access to the teams after the briefing has started until the end of the race.
