Junior Head Leaders Announced
Congratulations to Megan Emslie and Tiaan Potgieter on being elected Head Junior Leader and Deputy Head Junior Leader respectively. We wish them and their team every success for 2018.

Subject Changes Gr 10-12 - 2018
Learners who have been promoted to Grade 10,11 or 12 for 2018 are advised that subject changes need to be effected as follows:

Grade 10
A learner may change a minimum of two subjects in Grade 10 subject to the approval of the principal of the school where the learner is registered. Applications for the new academic year must be made no later than the end of the first week of the new academic year, otherwise, only after the end of the 2nd term and before the start of the 3rd term.
Grade 11
A learner may change 2 subjects in Gr 11. This is subject to the approval of the principal of the school where the learner is registered.
Applications need to be submitted in the new academic year BEFORE end of March.
Grade 12
In exceptional cases, a learner may change 1 additional subject in Gr 11, after the release of his/her Gr 11 end of year results provided the learner applies before 15 Dec 2017 for Gr 12 of 2018. The applications MUST reach the school BEFORE 5 December 2017.

The following documents MUST BE furnished for all subject changes:
(i) A letter of motivation from the parent or guardian of the learner.
(ii) A letter of motivation from the learner.

Grade 1-3 Aftercare Survey
As a result of meeting our ‘new’ Grade 1 parents 2018, there has been an indication that some parents would like Aftercare hours to be extended to 17:00.
I would like to do a survey of the number of parents who would support these extended hours. It would not be practical to keep Aftercare open for only 1 or 2 children. There would also be a reasonable increase in the fee for the longer hours.
Please contact Julie Ekron by Wednesday, 6 December 2017 if you will require Aftercare until 17:00 in the new year. A decision will then be made and parents contacted before we make any changes to the existing hours. Please contact Julie via email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Staff News : Mrs Wood
Mrs Wood, a valued member of our staff and Lilyfontein family, suffered a brain aneurysm early on Saturday morning. She is currently in a serious but stable condition in a Port Elizabeth Hospital. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs Wood, her family and close friends.
Togetherness is strength.

Important Message from the Sports Department
The school would like to put a new procedure in place for signing up for sport in 2018.
Learners are required to indicate on the form at this link, before the end of this year, which Summer and Winter sport they will be
participating in next year. The timetables can be found on our website at this link. This will give the sport department an indication of how many teams will be entered into the different leagues.
Parents are reminded of our policy of learners participating in at least two afternoons of extra-mural activities per week. Please note, once the learner has chosen a sport, they will have to commit to it for the full year.
Please help the school make your child’s school sporting experience a memorable one.
Yours in Sport, Mr Sofute
