Athletics Day will be held at School. Please see the letter sent home today for details.
Grade 11 Subject Choice Changes
The last opportunity for Grade 11 subject changes closes on Wednesday 8 March. Requests must be accompanied by a letter from the learner and a letter from the parent.
Lilyfontein School Golf Day: 11 March 2017
The Grade 11’s are hosting a Golf Day on 11 March 2017 at Gonubie Golf Course to raise money for the matric dance. We would be most appreciative if you could sponsor prizes or alternatively sponsor one of the 18 holes for this event. Sponsoring a hole will be R500 and you can then advertise your business/company on the day. INTERACT: Disaster Dinner - Thursday 9 March
Dear Lilyfontein students, parents, friends and family. It’s that time of the year again… the annual Lilyfontein DISASTER DINNER and you’re invited!! We hope you are ready for an evening full of laughs and creativity at its best as everyone tries to eat with all sorts of odd utensils!
Date: 9 March 2017
Time: 18:00 to 20:30.

Cost: R60 per person (not bad for a 3-course meal) - payable on or before 7 March 2017.
There will be a cash cooldrink “bar” available.
The proceeds from this event will be going to the Canaan Care Centre. To book your special spot, fill in the reply slip at this link or attached and return it to your class teacher in an envelope/ money bag with the correct payment due.
Grade 4-7 Kindness Challenge
Grades 4-7 are taking on a Kindness Challenge. Each learner is encouraged to perform a specific act of kindness each day for a month. Click on the link to see the schedule of suggested acts of kindness.

The Junior Debating Team participated in a Debating Festival at Hudson Park High School on Saturday, 25 February. Teams from across the Eastern Cape participated, from as far as Grahamstown and Port Elizabeth, and our debaters gained a lot of valuable experience.
Holly Mellin, Ivakele Funani and Ayola Xokiyana made up one team. The other team of Adon Parker, Aiden Young and Jordyn-Lee Makovinji won 2 out of their 3 debates. Best Speaker was awarded to both Aiden Young and Jordyn-Lee Makovinji. Well done!
Thank you to all the other junior debaters who supported their teammates.

Kara Freitag recently competed in the Horse of the Year Show held in Johannesburg. We congratulate her on the following results:

We would like to congratulate the following two swimmers who made it through to the final rounds of Border trials which took place at the Joan Harrison.
- Stephanie Parker finished in 5th for the u/13 girls butterfly event.
- Keegan Marr finished 8th in the u/9 boys freestyle event and 4th in the u/9 boys breaststroke event.
Jordyn Marr placed top 10 in the u/11 boys IM as well as the 100m events.
